School Chickens

Meet our Newly Named Chickens

Class 1

Class 1 decided to call their chicken Rosie.

She is a Light Sussex Bantam and will hopefully lay eggs for us with a cream to light brown shell.

Do you remember her when she was a tiny, very pale yellow baby chick?

Class 2

Class 2 decided to call their chicken Sophia.

She is a Black Orpington Bantam and is the youngest of our chickens,  as she was the last to hatch on Thursday 11th May 2023.

Class 3

Class 3 decided to call their chicken Oreo.

She is a Buff Orpington Bantam and is the oldest, and probably boldest, most friendly of our chickens. Our other Buff Orpington Bantam was a cockerel and was rehomed by Summers Rescue in Kent.

Do you remember them when they were tiny fluffy golden yellow chicks?

Class 4

Class 4 decided to call their chicken Leah.

Mrs Harvey thinks she is a Gold Laced Wyandotte Bantam but we also have 2 Gold Laced Orpington Bantams and it is very hard to spot the difference! This chicken has darker brown feathers on her head.

Can you pick her out in the photo above?

Class 5

Class 5 decided to call their chicken Hope.

Mrs Harvey thinks she is a Gold Laced Orpington Bantam. It is very hard to tell her apart from our other Gold Laced Orpinton Bantam.

Class 6

Class 6 decided to call their chicken Star.

Mrs Harvey thinks she is a Gold Laced Orpington Bantam. It is very hard to tell her apart from our other Gold Laced Orpinton Bantam – photo below.

Can you spot any differences?
