Our Curriculum

Be safe. Be kind. Be the best you can be.

At Normand Croft, our curriculum provides opportunities for children to shine and to become curious, independent and confident learners.
Central to our curriculum is our shared values approach, which encourages children to have high aspirations for themselves and how they treat others. Every child is recognised as an individual and we welcome and celebrate differences within our school community. We also focus on developing a growth mindset to build resilience and a positive attitude to learning.

We place a high importance on oracy, reading and writing, which is why we design our curriculum around high quality texts. We also make the most of our amazing school environment to take learning outdoors as well as making sure that every child participates in PE, music and cooking led by specialists.

We strive to develop confident scientists and mathematicians. We follow a mastery approach ensuring that every child can succeed and is ready for the next stage in their learning. Children are encouraged to deepen their knowledge and understanding through exploration and real-life experience.

Being located in our wonderful, diverse capital city, we strive to ensure that all children feel represented and make the most of all the opportunities that growing up in London can offer.

How we teach our curriculum

Teachers prepare knowledge organisers for topics in the wider curriculum with key vocabulary and facts for children to refer to.

In all lessons, teachers use these strategies to promote effective learning.
