Just before half term, the Eco Committee confidently conducted a Zoom call with Enrico Medi primary school in central Italy. Our committee members talked to the children of classes 2 and 5 and introduced the 6 candidates for May’s minibeast of the month and counted the votes.
We are pleased to announce that the winner was our first pollinator: the yellow butterfly!
We also shared videos about our school gardens. Finally, the children showed us the pants, planted with Ms Martin at Easter – they looked a little holey! This shows the presence of decomposers in the soil such as earthworms, centipedes as well as microscopic organisms such as protozoa and bacteria.
