This month it was a contest between a grasshopper spotted during Eco Club and the ladybirds seen on the flowers in the orchard and eating blackfly in the vegetable garden… The ladybird won after a discussion of the dual benefits it brings to the garden, not only controlling pests but also pollinating flowers.
Our Eco Committee talked about getting the whole school to vote on their favourite minibeasts next year so we can all celebrate biodiversity and all the hard work these tiny creatures do in helping to keep plants and the soil healthy.
